Jewelry restoration

Do you have a family heirloom, wedding ring or engagement ring that no longer looks its best…? Krasner Jewelers can help by restoring (rebuilding) your piece so it will last a lifetime. Often, diamonds can be reused.

This ring looked magnificient on the day it was made, but did not last. The walls were so thin they were unable to withstand normal wear and tear and the ring fell apart, resulting in the loss of a diamond. Krasner Jewelers remade the ring with thicker walls. See our ‘Custom Jewelry Mistakes’ for more information about the pitfalls of custom design and how we can help you avoid them.

Krasner Jewelers remade the ring below with thicker walls. The walls in the original ring were not thick enough, and the piece disintegrated with loss of the diamonds. The new ring is also properly balanced, so it doesn’t roll over when being worn.

Krasner Jewelers remade the ring below, too. The ring in the before picture broke, because the metal from it was constructed was porous – a defect in the casting process. When stress was placed on the diamond, the stress was transferred to the bridge and it collapsed. Fortunately, in this case the diamond was not lost.
